Using Personas for Target Marketing

In this blog post I will be creating and discussing 3 buyer personas and how I feel these would be likely demographics for the game I am creating.

Persona 1: Andrew

Andrew is a student who works a part time job in retail, being 18 he still lives with his family and uses the money from his job as extra income. Andrew is white, male and non religious. He is also active on most social media such as twitter, facebook etc.

Andrew is a very likely candidate for the game I'm creating as he is one of the largest percentages that buy games due to being a teen with no family obligations (Morris, 2018) and also being male he is three times more likely to make a gaming related purchase than a woman (Morris, 2018) making him a prime candidate for purchasing this game.

Persona 2: Mary

Mary is 24 years old with a BA degree in computer science, she works as a technician in a high school while looking for other available jobs and enjoys watching shows such as cops. Along with this she is single and doesn't enjoy going out drinking. Mary too is active on most social media.

Mary is another persona who I feel represents my target audience as a fan of cop related shows of which the game centres around police officers too. Along with this her job would typically be working 9-5 giving her free time to play the game along being somewhat introverted.

Persona 3: Darryl

Daryl is 22 years old and a QA tester for Rockstar North. He has played games of all genres since a young age and developed a career based off that love of video games. He has an interest in indie development and tries to support smaller studios on a regular basis

Darryl is another likely candidate for a target audience member as he searches out for indie games to support and would likely come across this game and be interested in it. Along with this being a QA tester for Rockstar he would be very familiar with video games and would enjoy the difficulty the game presents.
